OUR STORY
OUR BEGINNING
We are Lori and Kaja, best friends since childhood, who grew up together sharing a love for fashion, which over the years blossomed into a passion and eventually led to the development of LUXE RENT.
Even as little girls, we would host mini fashion shows in our rooms, dreaming of magical moments on the runway, and posing with makeup on in our moms' clothes and high heels.
GROWING UP
Our childhood interests grew into a true love for fashion over the years. We dreamed of the stunning creations of renowned designers, which, as teenagers, we could only admire from afar. Each of us had her own small collection of more affordable handbags, which we constantly borrowed from each other. Since we lived just a few steps apart, this made things even easier.
Towards the end of high school, we embarked on our first independent adventure – a trip to Munich. We vividly remember that day, filled with anticipation and excitement as we set off. It was also the trip where we bought our first designer fashion pieces. It's hard to describe the feeling of finally buying something you've wanted for so long!
PROM
One of the first major events for us was our prom. For this magical evening, we wanted to shine in all our glory. We had been dreaming for months about the perfect evening gown, but when it came to choosing a bag, we ran into a problem. We only had everyday bags at home, but for such a glamorous event, we needed something special, sparkly, and elegant. Oh, how easy it would have been if we could have just rented the perfect bag! Instead, we spent hours and hours searching for the ‘right’ one, which we never actually found in the end.
STUDENT FASHION ADVENTURES
During our studies, our love for fashion continued to grow.
We started traveling to fashion capitals like Milan, London, Monaco, and Dubai. There, we gained an even deeper insight into the world of fashion, glitz, and glamour. We always had a blast on our fashion adventures. In each city, we explored every possible store and boutique of renowned fashion houses. In Monaco, we admired jewelry in the Chanel store priced at €30,000, as if we could afford it, while in Dubai, we shopped for luxury fashion accessories in the children's department. At the end of each adventure, we always brought home a designer piece. Each one tells a story, a part of us and our fashion adventures.
ROME AND FLORENCE
During her studies, Lori went on an exchange program to Rome, where she immersed herself in the world of fashion. She enrolled in the Fashion Studies program, and who would have thought that her teacher would be no other than Maria Luisa Trussardi herself!
Like something out of a fairy tale, Lori won tickets to one of the biggest fashion events of 2023 – the Runway Icons fashion show in Florence. We found out we had been selected just a few days before the event, which meant a crazy, last-minute oganization. Kaja, in the middle of her pharmacy internship and study year, embarked on a 9-hour bus ride from Ljubljana to Florence at 5 AM. Meanwhile, Lori rushed straight from an exam to catch her train from Rome to Florence.
We put a lot of effort into selecting the perfect outfits for this occasion. In search of the perfect bag, Kaja borrowed hers from a friend. It was then that the idea for LUXE RENT truly came to life.
The fashion show took place at the magnificent Piazzale Michelangelo, perched on a hilltop. That evening, it was raining heavily, so we took a taxi to the event. However, the taxi dropped us off at the bottom of the hill, so there we were, dressed elegantly and in heels, making our way uphill in the heavy rain. But just like in a fairy tale, the rain soon stopped, and the clouds revealed a magical sunset.
The fairy tale didn’t end there – another surprise was waiting for us. Suddenly, we found ourselves in the VIP section, surrounded by celebrities like Elsa Hosk, Julia Fox, Jessica Jung, and Alex Riviere. We even had our photos taken right where they were posing. A night that began in the rain ended among the stars.
ESTABLISHMENT OF LUXE RENT
After attending the show, we were inspired to bring high fashion to Slovenia, along with designer accessories for everyday and special occasions, without the need for individuals to spend a lot of money. This is how the idea for LUXE RENT started to take shape. Choosing and purchasing the bags was a long process, as it was challenging to curate the perfect selection amidst the vast array of fashion designers. We had to consider various tastes, occasions, current trends, and at the same time, ensure affordability.
We wanted LUXE RENT to be completely ours, which is why we were involved in every step of its creation – from selecting the bags to designing the logo and building the website. This way, we can ensure that LUXE RENT fully reflects our vision and goals.
With LUXE RENT, we want to share our love for fashion with you and give each of you the opportunity to enjoy mixing, styling, and the unique experience of wearing designer accessories.
